Water in South America By Kelly Berry *40% of all the water in South America drains into the Amazon *77 million people do not have access to safe water *South America has 28% of the worlds fresh water FUN FACTS ABOUT SOUTH AMERICA 77 million people don't have access to safe water Has 28% of the world's fresh water 40% of the water drains right into the Amazon 72% of the worlds water is used for agiculture 10% of the water goes to factories/industries Has the world's largest waterfall 35 million people= 5th most polluted Floods are common = lack of resources Has bad pollution in the cities poor people pay more money for dirty water than wealthier people pay for clean water Water in SOuth America We use 408 gallons of water a day 18% of our water is for the public 67% of water is used for farming 1 person uses 63.3 gallons of water a day We have laws to protect water We use water to create energy We have the safest drinking water 62% of the world's population has good sanitation The biggest infection is because of lack of sanitation Children in bad environments often carry 1,000 worms in them Water in the U.S.A.
