Substance Use Facts and Policies
at Palatine High School

Expectations at PHS
Integrity: Doing the right thing when no one is looking.

Respect: Using common courtesies.

Achievement: showing responsibility.
Final thoughts..
CTTP knows that not all students use alcohol or other substances, and that substance us is not a problem for everyone. However, helping a classmate or a friend with a problem can be a way to show Achievement here at PHS- and to ensure that Palatine remains a safe place to learn...
Think about this....
When students smoke or use other substances before school, are they demonstrating
Integrity
?

Does mood or behavior ever change as the result of substance use? Do students ever struggle to show
Respect
when under the influence?

Can students put forth their best effort and show
Achievement
when they are high in class?
Final thoughts
If you or someone you know needs help with substance use issues – there are people at PHS who are here to help! Make an appointment with your counselor or another member of the Guidance Department.

Keep an eye out for flyers around the building that have facts regarding substance use, as well referral sources if you need help!
