What is the "Fulness" of the Gospel?
"He [Moroni] also said that the
fulness of the everlasting Gospel
was contained in it, as delivered
by the Savior to the ancient
inhabitants;" -JS 1:34

* There are no parables in the Book of Mormon, though there is the allegory of the olive tree {Jacob 5}. The Lord spoke in parables for those who were unwilling or unable to understand the gospel in plainness. The Book of Mormon is a book of plainness and unusual clarity.
*Repent is the first and key word of every gospel dispensation. It appears in the Bible 50 times
(25 old / 25 new) In the Book of Mormon it appears...
*The language of the plates was reformed Egyptian, but the doctrine and the style are very much Hebrew. (For example, see footnotes at 2 Ne. 9:20a; 1 Ne. 2:10a; 16:34b; Mosiah 27:29d) Also the phrases; altar of stones; plates of brass; rod of iron; etc. reflect the Hebrew style, instead of stone altar; brass plates; iron rod; etc.

The Challenge!
1. Write a history of an ancient people covering a period from 2200 B.C. to 400 A.D.

2. Include the history of two distinct and separate nations along with histories of different contemporary nations as groups of people.

3. Describe their religious, economic, social and political cultures and institutions.
4. Weave into the history a religion of Jesus Christ and the pattern of Christian living that is in complete harmony with the Bible.

5. You are 23 years old.

6. You have only 3 years of formal schooling.

7. Produce a record of 520 pages, over 150 words per page.

8. You must include within the record itself the marvelous, unique, and dangerous promise: “And when you shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, if these things are not true, and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost.” (Moroni 10:4)
9. It is to fulfill Bible prophecies even in the exact manner in which it shall come forth, and to whom it will be given.

10. Your description of the cultures in those civilizations is not known when you bring forth your record, but it agrees with all archeological and other scientific evidence found for the next 180 years.

11. Many of the facts, ideas, and statements given as true in your record must be entirely inconsistent, even the direct opposite, with prevailing beliefs of the world. (ie. Original Sin, Pre-Existence, Godhead, 10 Tribes.)

12. Internal and external evidences and prophecies must be confirmed and fulfilled over the next 180 years.
“When studying the
Book of Mormon,
focus on the principles,
not the process;
the message, not the characters;
the doctrine, not the plot.”
“It is the doctrines within the Book of Mormon, not evidences of the book, that bring us to God. It is from the doctrines that we receive direction, spiritual stability, and faith. There is a power in the temple of faith that cannot be found in a museum of evidences.”
[Joseph f. McConkie and Robert L. Millet]

Is all Truth Equal?
Are all Prophets Equal?
Is all Scripture Equal?
“As far as learning the Gospel and teaching the Gospel is concerned, the Book of Mormon,
by all odds, is the most important of
the Standard Works, because in
simplicity and in plainness it sets
forth in a definitive manner the
doctrines of the Gospel.”
“There is no democracy of truth,
but there is a hierarchy of truth.
All truth is not of equal value."
"Remember is the Most
Important Word
in the Dictionary."
"Remember" appears in the Bible 93 times,
244 in the Book of Mormon
21. Do this in 60 days with No changes to the text.
13. Use words that are not apart of your native language that will be discovered and verified 100+ years later.

14. Write using the grammer and word structure consistant with ancient old world cultures.
15. You must write the history on the basis of what you know now.

16. Each new author in the record must have their own separate and distinct style of communication.

17. This must be done with persecution and having to move your family hundreds of miles twice.

18. When writing the book, you cannot go back and read what you have written, but must simply start from where you left off the day before.

If we're not reading the scriptures daily, our testimonies
are growing thinner, our spirituality isn't increasing in depth. We, ourselves, must be studying the scriptures and have a daily habit. - Harold B. Lee
