Carrie Underwood- Charity Work
Transcript of Carrie Underwood- Charity Work
a long way from when she
was just a small town girl
from Oklahoma. She has
been extremely successful
since winning American Idol,
and now she’s using her
good fortunes to give back
to others. Carrie Underwood and her
efforts to fight animal abuse
and find animals homes as an
ambassador for The Humane
Society of the United States
have inspired me to make a
difference in the world. Life & Success Carrie was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on March 10, 1983. In 2001 she graduated as salutatorian from Checotah High School, and later went on to graduate magna cum laude from Northeastern State University.
During the summer of 2004, she auditioned for American Idol in St. Louis, Missouri, and made it onto the show. She eventually went on to be the season 4 winner.
Since winning American Idol, Underwood has released 3 albums, and is American Idol's "top earner" based on her number of albums sold. She has also won multiple awards, including 4 grammy awards. Contributions to Charity Carrie Underwood has made many generous donations to multiple charities, including: PETA, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, and The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). I admire that Carrie Underwood uses
her wealth and fame to help a variety of
different charities, helping a wide range
of people. Her charity work is felt in many
different areas, from children, to animals,
to the armed forces. Charity Information Underwood is a supporter of multiple charities that are dedicated to helping animals.
In 2009, she started the C.A.T.S (Checotah Animal, Town, and School) Foundation. Recently, the foundation made it possible for an animal shelter to be built in Underwood's hometown of Checotah.
She is also a major supporter of The Humane Society of the United States, and has done several promotions and public service announcements for them. In March of 2009, it was announced that all of the proceeds from her single "Home Sweet Home", a rendition of a Motley Crue song that was played each week as contestents were voted off of American Idol, would be donated to the HSUS. In addition to these monetary donations, Carrie also participates in multiple commercials promotion The Humane Society. The HSUS is the nations top animal protection organization, with more than 10 million american supporters. The goal of HSUS is to find stable, loving homes for all animals, and to be a significant force against animaly cruelty and the neglect of animals. Inspiration Carrie Underwood is an especially-inspirational
celebrity. Not only does she have musical talent,
but she can also act. Underwood had to work extremely hard in order to reach the point she's at today. She grew up in a small town, made it big after winning American Idol, and now she's giving back to others, as seen in her abundant charity work. In conclusion, Carrie
Underwood and her efforts
to eliminate the neglect of
animals and assist in finding
homes for homeless animals
as an ambassador for The
Humane Society of the United
States have inspired me to
make a difference in the world.
