In our opinion, this short book is really interesting. The thing we liked the most was the fact that the author doesn't reveal you important things, such us her obssession with fire or with misfortunes, until the end. This increases your attention on the book.
When Lucille's mother died, she decided to leave, forget everything an start again .The Christiansen's family hired her as the nanny of two children who live there, Nicky(9) and Heloise(6) .
When she received her first payment, which was $ 40, she burned the bills. She loved the kids, and she didn't want to be paid for taking care of them. She even asked Mrs. Christiansen if she could work for free for them.
Lucille felt the necessity of being love and being remembered forever. She wanted to be a heroine, and she thought about burning their house. If this happened, she will rescue the children and be loved forever. So she did it...
