Using what we know, there are two ways to add mixed numbers:
Improper Fractions &
Mixed Numbers
Let's just review for a sec...
...and the reverse.
Change this mixed number to an improper fraction
Remember...
2.) Make them improper fractions and add/subtract, then change the result back to a mixed number
1.) Add/Subtract the whole numbers and fractions separately
The same rules and steps that you use for addition can also be used for subtraction.
JUST DON'T FORGET TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIGNS!!!
