Solving two step equations
Transcript of Solving two step equations
Get the variable term by itself. The "variable term" is the letter and whatever coefficient is in front of it step two CAUTION: Whatever you do to one side of an equation, you must do to the other side. step 2
Bring down the variable term. Do not make any changes to it. Step three step 3
Get rid of the variable's coefficient. "Coefficient" is the fancy word for "the number attached to the variable". STEP/BY/STEP!
An algebraic equation is an equation that includes one or more variables. These equations can be solved as long as the number of variables does not exceed the number of equations.
stop step four 4
Label the answer, if necessary. make sure you have all of your units,
percentages etc.! YOU now know all you need lets get to work your a pro!! But first we need to try it out
examples will help that example: 3 h + 4 = 16
- 4 = - 4 3 h = 12
3 h / 3 = 12 / 3
h = 12 / 3
h = 4
3x+4=15 -4 -4 3x=11 example solve 3x+4=15 -4 -4 3x=11 divide by three on both sides x=11/3 ANSWER: x= 3.67 ALL RIGHT ITS YOUR TURN I did all I can I think your ready, I told you all the steps and gave you an example...so lets go.
