8HOL What are Robots? Robots are machines capable of carrying out a series of tasks automaticlly. They can also resemble humans. Humaniod Robots should be perfected within the next 15 years. At the moment they are only able to carry out simple tasks on command and play simple sports such as Table Tennis (Ping Pong). Some even have built in heaters that when set can heat or cool the room when the room temp is at a certain temp. Humanoid Robots. In the near future the US Army are planning on developing fighter robots that will enable them to loose less men in battle and win wars quicker and easier. War Robots Robots should soon be able to help out with the shopping and the school run thanks to Japanese scientists working on robots to help their owners with day to day tasks. These should be sold to the public by 2025. Robot Helpers. In the near future robot controlled airplanes should be able to fly planes to and from any country. The planes are programmed to the correct route and flown with only passengers and flight attendance on board! This system will also be used to trains, bus's, boats and cars. A bit like Londons DLC. Transport Robots. NASA are currently working on many models, such as this one. In summary, within in the next 15 years the future of robotics will enable us to not loose men in war, drive a car without driving and fly with no pilot. Our medical research will improve ten fold and our transport will be more economical and energy efficient. Conclusion. Space robots. Space craft will soon be able to do completely un-manned mission into the universe and beyond.. Shuttles will be able to go a lot further into space and quicker. Scientist think they have already discovered an Earth-like planet that may be able to inhabit human life. The only problem is... its over 12 light years away... Future Cars! energy efficient automobiles is the source of power to drive the engine.A variety of alternative fuel vehicles have been proposed or sold, including electric cars, hydrogen cars, compressed-air cars and liquid nitrogen cars. Conventional automobiles operate at about 15% efficiency. The rest of the energy is lost to engine and drive-train inefficiencies and idling. Therefore, the potential to improve fuel efficiency with advanced technologies is enormous.
Various technologies have been developed and utilized to increase the energy efficiency of conventional cars or supplement them, resulting in energy savings. Energy saver. Duraluminum, fiberglass, carbon fiber, and carbon nanotubes may
totally replace all steel in cars (potentially improving lightness and strength).
Aluminum, carbon fiber and fiberglass are currently being used more in cars today.
Plastic and foam for the car's shell; foam can provide additional safety for pedestrians,
