Events of Eoin Colfer Eoin Colfer was born on May 14th, 1965. Eoin is a writer/primary school teacher. Currently, he lives in Wexford, Ireland. He is married to Jackie and has two sons. His wife is also a primary school teacher. For hobbies, Eoin likes to parachute, read, and theater. He is 47 years old. Contributions cont Contributions/Accomplishments Eoin taught in Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and Italy before his writing career had started. Eoin was the writer of the best selling series "Artemis Fowl." He reached New York's bestseller list. He won the White Raven award in 1998 for "Benny and Omar." Also he won the Bisto Children Book of the Year merit award in 2001 for "Benny and Babe."In 2001 he was awarded the British Book awards. His most popular novels, the artemis fowl series, he was awarded the W.H. Smith book award. Consequently he won the 2011 independent booksellers award in the children's category for "Artemis Fowl."
