(IIE official definition) Who are we, as Industrial Engineers Companies who hire Industrial Engineers: What Are Our Ethics? IE Statistics Industrial engineering is mostly concerned with design, materials, information, energy efficiency, and the integration of systems of people. According to the official IIE (Institute of Industrial Engineers) website, It draws upon specialized knowledge and skill in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design, to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems Industrial Engineers are usually the kind of people that have an innate sense of leadership and sociability. many IE's have gone on to live successful lives both within the field of engineering and beyond. Unlike other disciplines of engineering, IE's are more about the business and logistics of a facility, rather than the nuts and bolts of all the machinery.
