By: Nia Williams Remembering the Bullied Rachel Ehmke Rachel Ehmke was 13 years old and she lived in Mantorville, Minn. She died on April 29 2012. A group of girls would stick gum to her textbooks and write words like "slut" or "hore" all over her locker. The same group would also threaten her. She died by hanging herself. Phoebe Prince was a 15 year old Irish immigrant. Her parents had just moved her with her five siblings to America and they moved to Massachusetts within a year. When she started school she was immediately being bullied by nine classmates through internet,text message and occasionally in person. Phoebe's sister found that she hung herself. Two days before the big dance she had just been asked to. Bullying Related Suicide Suicide remains among the leading causes of death of children under 14. And in most cases, the young people die from hanging. Bullying can include various types of behavior from physical attacks, to destroying one's personal property or clothing, verbal abuse, starting rumors, name calling, verbal attacks online as well as other forms of cyberbullying. At least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims Bullying to death is not just a problem in the United States. Kameron lived in Orange county, NY. He was only 14 when he died. He was constantly bullied at baseball practice and online. What he endured at the hands of bullies was horrific. It eventually got to the extent to where the bullies even broke his jaw.. Twice. His parents got his teachers involved in the situation, but the bullying ultimately got worse. Three months later Kameron took his life in his own room. Phoebe Prince Olivia Penpraze 19 year old australian Olivia Penpraze committed suicide on March 29th as a result of bullying which led to depression and psychosis. She made a video describing her life. She had done more suicide attempts than she could count and had handfuls of hospital bracelets in her Tumblr video to show it. Some people showed support but other people egged her on with cruel comments to kill herself. The attempt left her brain dead for four days. Her parents made the hard decision of taking her off life support. Olivia took her last breath on April 3, 2012. Seung-min 13 year old Seung-min had committed suicide on July 16, 2012 by jumping from his home's seventh story window. he was bullied at school. The bullies would tie up and beat Seung-min with electrical wires. They would also burn him with lighters. They would also bet him with wooden sticks and boxing gloves. The boys who bullied Seung-min were prosecuted and sent to a juvenile correction center Amanda Todd Amanda Todd was a 15 year old Canadian teenager. The cause of her suicide was cyberbullying. On September 7, 2012 she created a Youtube video to tell of her experence of being blackmailed, bullied and physically assaulted. The bullying caused her to have anxiety, depression and panic disorder. On October 10, 2012 she was found dead in her home. Olivia's Video
