Although we may succeed in pushing our worries out of our minds during the day, at night our will is suspended, and these worries all come rushing back to the forefront of our minds.

Bad dreams provide us with the means of recognizing problems in reality, reasoning them out, figuring out what solutions there are, and rehearsing those possible solutions in our dreams.

What are the benefits of bad dreams?
Conscious reflection and analysis of our bad dreams gives us insight into our waking concerns and provide us with a means of addressing them.
What we found
- relationship between the experience of a stressor and dreaming about that stressor (1)
Participants reported an increased amount of that particular stressor compared to participants in the low stress condition

Those who dreamt about their ex-spouses rated themselves as better able to adapt to their new life

Our Answer
Rachel is on a dimly lit beach with her family. While walking, she encounters a scary looking man. He questions her and "comes on" to her. She feels very uncomfortable and firmly declines his offers. She rejoins her family.

Dealing with the Problems
We discussed trying to modify and salvage the "money saving" project for a while, but it became apparent that this was not going to work out.
We then decided that it was okay to return to the drawing board, and brainstormed new ideas
The Dream Begins

The Man
The Fire
Rachel rejoins her family around a small campfire on the beach. Everyone is fighting and the atmosphere is very tense. After a while, the fire dies down to embers. Rachel and her family cross the road together, making their way to beachhouse.
The Coffee Cup Lid
Rachel and her family leave the campfire, and start crossing a busy two way road towards their house on the other side. The members of her family dodge traffic and make it to the other side. However, her mother drops her coffee cup lid and goes back into traffic for it.
The Fire and Crossing Roads

Referring back to the fire on the beach, Rachel and her family were fighting and the tone was very tense. She was being sassy to her mother, and her brothers were fist fighting. Once the fire burnt out the family proceeded to cross the road together.
