Borrelia Burgdeforia is a Gram- negative spirochete bacteria
Transcript of Borrelia Burgdeforia is a Gram- negative spirochete bacteria
According to the C.D.C. (Center for Disease Control), Lyme Disease has become the most common vector- borne bacterial disease. Vector- borne diseases are infections transmitted by the bite of infected arthropod species.(mosquitoes, ticks, sandflies, etc.
It uses its flagella to travel ( like all other bacteria) through highly sticky or hard to get through materials. It is especially critical for the ability to travel through the tissue of it's infected host.
Ticks acquire and transmit the bacteria to different hosts during three distinct feeding phases of their life cycle; larvel, nymphal, and adult stages.
Borrelia Burgdeforia is a Gram- negative spiral shaped bacteria that is thought to be the origin of Lyme Disease.
In 1982, a few years after Lyme Disease was first diagnosed, it was determined by researchers the Borrelia Burgdeforia was transmited to people through ticks.
It has an inner and outer membrane as well as a flexible cell wall. Inside the bacteria's cell wall is the protoplasm which is long and cylindrical.
How people can get it.
Some Doctors or scientists call Lyme Disease " The great imitator" because it can look like any other disease out there. So it can disguise itself.
A reason that it is spiral shaped is so that it can easily curl or curve through human tissue

Lyme Disease is a clinical diagnosis more than it is a laboratory diagnosis. The majority of patients may have a negative lab test that does not accurately reveal their Lyme infection.
Borrelia Burgdeforia's main habitat is in its host tissue. Since the major organism it infects is the tick it is most commonly found in the woods. People who often go hiking or running high grass area are more likely to get it.
