In Paris, He met Therese Levausseur.
He had five children with Therese.
Rousseau abandoned all of his children.
His poor parenting received a great criticism.

Birth and first years
Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin was born on 30 August 1797, in London;
Her mother died a few days after her birth;
She was brought up by Godwin and his wife.

Forbidden Love
In 1814, Mary began a relationship with Percy Shelley;
Her father was opposed to this relationship;
They ran away and spent a few years travelling;(Ginebra)
They got married in 1816, after Harriet´s death.
Education (1801-1813)
She was not formally educated;
Encouraged by her father;
Sent by her father, spent a couple of months in Scotland (Baxters´house);
Inmersed in an intellectual atmosphere
Death and depression
Death of their second and third children;
Shelley´s affairs;
Frankestein´s first edition is published.
In 1822 Shelley died, drowned.

It was an age of rebels against current beliefs and customs.
In contrast with the formal order and rationality of the Age of reason
The glory and beauty of nature and the power of the natural world was emphasized

Use of imagination to make the world new again.
It was the supreme faculty of the mind
Poetry becomes the most popular literary form and the best way of individual expression.
Also the notions of romantic love, mystery and superstition appeared.
It is known as the age of revolutions:
French Revolution: Ideas of freedom, brotherhood and equality.
