Relations to The Search for Spiritual Enlightenment
Jose’s definition of this theme is journeying to find thyself.

Moishiur’s definition of this theme is trying to escape a cycle of Samsara.
The Search for Spiritual Enlightenment (Characters)
Siddhartha: Siddhartha searches for spiritual enlightenment throughout the entire novel. Finding it is his entire purpose in life.

Siddhartha’s father: He asks Siddhartha to come back and show him what he has learned if he ever finds enlightenment.

Gotama Buddha: Gotama Buddha is the only person in the novel to have attained spiritual Enlightenment, until Siddhartha does at the end.

The Search for Spiritual Enlightenment (Characters)
Govinda: Govinda follows behind Siddhartha because he knows that one day he will find enlightenment through him.

Samana leader: This character is also searching for spiritual enlightenment.
Conclusion
The theme had many different ways of looking at it. Each character and group member had a different quest to find it and a different definition of it.

Bryan’s definition of this theme is a quest to discover trueness and awareness through spiritual means.

Gabriel’s definition of this theme is to find pleasure in a spiritual way.
