Transcript of Team StarKid

Team StarKid is a production company that was started by a group of friends at the University of Michigan. StarKid is known for their very popular and very funny Harry Potter parody musicals, A Very Potter Musical (AVPM) and A Very Potter Sequel (AVPS). They also have a few other plays and a webseries called Little White Lie. About Team StarKid... A Very Potter Musical... A Very Potter Musical is about our favorite boy wizard, Harry Potter (Darren Criss), and his friends Hermione Granger (Bonnie Grueson) and Ron Weasley (Joey Richter) during their second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Trio faces challenges such as the House Cup Tournament, dragons, dark lords, sandwich bombs, intergalactic space travel and hormones. This musical follows books 1, 4, 6, & 7. A Very Potter Sequel... A Very Potter Sequel (performed and released in 2010*
after the video of the show was first premiered at Infinitus, a Harry Potter convention) begins immediately after the events of the first story, when Lucius Malfoy decides to use a time turner to go back to Harry's first year at Hogwarts and kill him before he can defeat Voldemort. As Harry, Ron, Herman (Hermione), Malfoy and the rest of the characters meet for the first time, Sirius Black escapes from Azkaban and the Ministry of Magic responds by sending Delores Umbridge to the school to watch out for Harry, and Remus Lupin also comes to Hogwarts to take up the job of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Its story is mostly from books 1, 3, and 5. Starship... Starship, which takes place in the future on a distant planet inhabited by life-size bugs—aptly called Bug World—is. The 13-actor play centers on hive-outcast Bug, who’s spent most of his life exploring a human starship that crashed on Bug World 20 years prior. “He’s an individual; he doesn’t like to eat poo like the other bugs,” says Brian Holden. When another human starship lands on Bug World, Bug’s loyalty is tested. “It’s kind of like Little Mermaid meets Aliens.”
Darren Criss... Darren Criss is a singer-songwriter and actor from San Francisco, CA. Criss plays many instruments, some of which include; guitar, paino, violin and drums. After high school he then moved on to attend college at the University of Michigan where he and some friends formed a production company called Team StarKid. StarKid made a few musicals (AVPM, AVPS and more) and a webseries called "Little White Lie". In AVPM and AVPS Criss played the role of the-boy-who-lived, Harry (freakin') Potter and in LWL he played the role of Toby Phillips. Though Criss could not be in StarKid's newest musical, Starship, due to working on the show "Glee", he did however write all of the music. He also wrote all of the music for AVPS, some of the music for AVPM, LWL and other shows StarKid has put on. Glee Darren Criss (aka Harry Freakin' Potter) landed
the role as Blaine, an out and proud gay teen
on the hit show "Glee". Blaine is the lead soloist
for the Dalton Academy Warblers. The dapper teen
wins everyone's hearts with the Glee rendition of Katy
Perry's "Teenage Dream". The morning after the episode
"Never Been Kissed" (the episode featuring Teenage Dream)
Glee's "Teenage Dream" was the number one selling song on iTunes.
