A level Graphic Products

A level Product Design

A level Photography 5 A - C grades at GCSE, this must include at least a grade C in English and a grade C in either Art, Graphics, Product Design or Resistant materials

You will cover 18 design based units throughout the 2 years
9 units each year
4 are compulsory design units including research/brief/product and a final exhibition at the end of 2 years
4 will be 3D based
4 will be photography based
5 will be graphic based
1 work experience unit
You will have 13 hours teaching time and will be expected to drop in during the week to make up the same amount time Camera techniques

Images for marketing
Creative cartoons and producing animation
Narrative images 3D materials and techniques
Creating a 3D art work
Commercial product design
Theatre design Entry Requirements OCR Diploma in Design Graphic Products and Product design These are both four-unit course: two units at AS and a further two units in A2 which combine to make a full A level qualification.

In both AS and A2 the work is marked as:
60% coursework and manufacturing mark
40% exam mark At AS students will have set projects to design and manufacture

At A2 students will choose an area of design to research, develop and manufacture

In both year groups there will be an exam; this will be based on the theory of material and manufacture 3D UNITS GRAPHICS UNITS What is the difference between Graphics and Product? The main difference between Graphic products and Product design is that in Graphic Products you produce a model, and in Product design you produce a physical object This is a four-unit course: two units at AS and a further two units in A2 which combine to make a full A level qualification.

In both AS and A2 the work is marked as:
50% coursework
50% exam unit - externally set this requires the students to work on practical work in a set time PHOTOGRAPHY Location photography - focusing on architecture and street photography A set piece by the exam board At A2 the coursework includes Personal investigation - focusing on one area of their choice A set piece by the exam board PHOTOGRAPHY UNITS
