It was made in 1931. Its museum location is New York City at the Museum of Modern Art. The material that was used was oil on canvas. Salvador would entertain people at night, but one day he sat down at a table and stared at some melting Camembert cheese on one of the tables, he then looked at his watch to see what time it was and he suddenly got the idea to make melting watches, and immediately he started to draw. Dreams were also an ingredient in his paintings. He was also very impressed by Einstein's conclusion that time is relative not rigid.

He was not able to hold a paint brush, and lost the ability to express himself in the way he knew best. Also in the year 1982, his wife Gala died. These two events put him in a deep depression.
Then in 1984, Dali had severely burned in a fire which took place in his bedroom. People say the fire was a suicide attempt or it was possibly his simple negligence by his staff. Then in November 1988, he entered the hospital with a failing heart. Sadly, on January 23, 1989 in Figueras, Spain. Salvador Dali past away at the age of 84 due to a heart failure.
