and Samrah Ali. The Great Depression is what caused many men and women to lose their jobs and homes. It took place in America and began in 1929 and ended in 1941. Not too long before WWII began. The great depression was caused by the stock market that had crashed. Consumer demands increased dramatically, especially for new electronics. When the stock market crashed, it drove a major crisis in the banking industries. Roosevelt launched various programs to renew the economy. During the Great Depression, hunger and unemployment was spread around the world! During the time of the Great Depression, there were many dust bowls; a dust bowl is dried and degraded soil loosened by high winds. Bread shops and soup kitchens were lined with people trying to prevent themselves from starvation. The impact of the Great Depression changed peoples way of living.
