The 2 most recent Supreme Court decisions
Now, I doubt any of you would prefer a rolled up newspaper as a weapon against a dictator or a criminal intruder.
Decisions of the Supreme Court
The District of Columbia v. Heller (2008):
the Court ruled that the pre-existing right of the 2nd Amendment should stay the same.
The rights of carrying a gun is not unlimited, though.
No gun should be carried in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.
McDonald v. Chicago (2010):
The Court ruled that the Second Amendment limits State and Local Governments to the same extent that it limits the Federal Government.

It's not a man's gun, he's a gun's man.
At the 2000 NRA convention, he raised a rifle over his head and declared that a potential Al Gore administration would take away his Second Amendment rights "from my cold, dead hands".
In announcing his resignation in 2003, he again raised a rifle over his head, repeating the famous words of his 2000 speech.

Gun rights or gun control?
Gun rights supporters promote firearms for self-defense, hunting, sporting activities, and security against tyranny.
Gun rights advocates state that firearm ownership by law-abiding citizens reduces crime.
Gun control supporters say that broad or unrestricted gun rights inhibit the government from fulfilling that responsibility.
Gun control advocates state that keeping guns out of the hands of criminals results in safer communities.
