ICT In Education - First Semester 2013
Information/Communication/Technology In Education
Project Number 1
Project Number 2
Project Number 3
Project Number 4
Project Number 5 & 6
In this class, taught by Mr. Freddy Espinoza, we learned about many programs and applications used for pedagogical purposes.
In this presentation, I will show you what I learned by showing you the personal projects I did during the semester...
The Good: It is very simple to use, its platform is very friendly. Movie Maker is great for beginners. It has a good
variety in transitions, effects and titles. The audio recording feature is very good.
The Bad: It only allows one video and audio track, the results look a bit unprofessional and sometimes it has problems due to its slow performance.
Pedagogical Purposes: This tool will definitely be useful for creating material for school students, because it can incorporate audio and music to images, making it capable of producing both interesting and fun material.
The Good: It is very simple to use, it absolutely looks great, and its platform is very friendly. Glogster also has a good
variety in clip art.
The Bad: Nothing.
Pedagogical Purposes: This is my favorite tool, it is wonderful for creating material for any kind of students, because it looks like wall where you can post almost anything.
Pixton has a big collection of clip art and a very good feature in the word balloons tool. This tool allows you to connect word balloons to a specific character or object, and the tail of the bubble will follow its original position, so if you want to rearrange it, it won't be necessary to re-edit it.
Unfortunately, I had a problem with Pixton none of my classmates had. My comic was deleted and disappeared forever from the site without any warnings or any possibility to recover my project. Luckily I kept a screen shot of my work.
This issue will make me think twice about using Pixton again because it demonstrated to me that it is not a tool I can trust or rely on.
Pixton would be great for creating comic strips for education because of the wide range of possibilities it offers in order to create storyboards, teaching exercises, and any kind of artistic expression.
The Good: Xtranormal looks great has a good variety in clip art and animations.
The Bad: In my opinion it's not very user friendly.
Pedagogical Purposes: It is a great tool for creating material for any kind of students, because it is fun and has many customization options.
The Good: PowerPoint is a tool known for its simplicity to create layouts. In this class we learned how to add voice to a PowerPoint presentation and converting it into video, this was a positive surprise to me.
The Bad: The process of recording audio and converting PowerPoint files into video is not friendly and it is very slow.
Pedagogical Purposes: It is a great tool for producing material for any kind of class, and the options to create a quality project are infinite.
Project Number 7
The Good: Prezi looks great, and its platform is very friendly. Prezi also has a good variety in clip art and designs.
The Bad: Nothing.
Pedagogical Purposes: This is an excellent tool, it is wonderful for creating dynamic presentations for any class.
