Transcript of Tropical Rainforest

TRopical Rainforest
Rainforests are tremendously rich in animal life. Rainforests are populated with insects (like butterflies and beetles), arachnids (like spiders and ticks), worms, reptiles (like snakes and lizards), amphibians (like frogs and toads), birds (like parrots and toucans) and mammals (like sloths and jaguars).
Different animals live in different strata of the rainforest. For example, birds live in the canopy (upper leaves of the trees) and in the emergents (the tops of the tallest trees). Large animals (like jaguars) generally live on the forest floor, but others (like howler monkeys and sloths) are arboreal (living in trees). Insects are found almost everywhere. Fishes are a main species of rivers and lakes.
Many species of rainforest animals are endangered and many other have gone extinct as the number of acres of rainforests on Earth decreases. More than two thirds of the world's plant species are found in the tropical rainforests: plants that provide shelter and food for rainforest animals as well as taking part in the gas exchanges which provide much of the world's oxygen supply.Types of plants are: Bromeliads,
Amazon Rainforest is the largest tropical rainforest. The tropical rain forests are located near the equator. They are found in Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia, Central and South America. Tropical forests are also present in temperate areas like Russia, Canada and the US. It is difficult to traverse Tropical rainforests because of dense vegetation and poor visibility. Some of the tropical rainforest plants are pineapple, pepper, palm tree, orchid, fern, peanut, orange, lemon, coffee, banana and avocado. Also present are Sawpalm, Cat's-foot, Venus Fly-Trap, Lichen Moss, Twisty grass, Teak, Cypress, Live Oak, Parasol Plant, Sargasso, Sesame, Cedar, Palmetto and Pitcher plant In an average year in a tropical rain forest, the climate is very humid because of all the rainfall, which amounts to about 250 cm per year. The rain forest has lots of rain because it is very hot and wet. This climate is found near the equator. The Landscape in a Tropical Rainforest is very thick and is almost contantly raining and humid. The two layers of trees, the emergent layer and the canopy are actually so thick, that some layers don't let light penetrate to the forest floor. The rainforest gets one of the largest amounts of precipitation at about 108in a year. The trees there are mostly broad-leaf evergreen trees.
Did you know that in The Amazon Rainforest, There is Dangerous species of fishes? Once,a man was killed by a humongus catfish in a long river stream up in Brazil. The End!!!(:
