EDUCATE yourself about the NCAA
NCAA Division I & II requirements:
High School Diploma
Must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center and send SAT/ACT scores (Enter "9999" when registering) www.eligibilitycenter.com
Complete required # of NCAA approved courses
Division I Requirements:
All athletes must have a 2.0 GPA & use the NCAA sliding scale
Starting in 2016, all athletes must have a 2.3 GPA & use the NCAA sliding scale
Division II Requirements:
All athletes must a 2.0 GPA & an 820 SAT or 68 ACT score
Starting in 2018, all athletes must have a 2.2 & DII sliding scale
Division III Requirements:
Adhere to eligibility requirements of specific institutions
SEARCH for schools that will be the best fit
Academic Lens:
Majors/programs of interest
Practice and travel schedules impact on studies
Common majors of teammates
Student-athlete support given by the school
Athletic Lens:
Current coaches tenure
Teams style of play
Current players in your position
Position in the recruiting pipeline
