Mayan And Egypt had a similar writing system

The Mayan did practice in human sacrifice as they thought death and sacrifice were spiritually linked to the concepts of creation and rebirth. Mayan had a sport were the loser would be sacrifice.

Egyptians did practice human sacrifice and it is known as retainer ritual sacrifice.

Tonatiuh, a red eagle with a large and all Seeing Eye, was the god associated with the sun
Ix Chel (sometimes spelled Ixchel), the moon goddess, is one of the most important ancient Maya deities, connected to fertility, and procreation. Her name has been translated as “Lady Rainbow”, or as “She of the Pale Face”, alluding to the moon's surface.
The sun represented Ra because of its incredible strength
Osiris, god of death and rebirth. Night associated with death and day with life or rebirth. This reflects the Egyptian idea of immortality
