France Colonies New France- extended from Newfoundland to the Rocky Mountains and from Hudson Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. New FRance divided into 5 colonies, Canada, Acadia, Hudson Bay, Newfoundland, and Louisiana. Reasons for Colonization The French was interested

land they colonized The French wanted to find a
new route to the Pacific Interactions with native cultures The French brought with them Catholic Priests who sought to convert the Native Americans The French respected the natives
way of life and learned from them. Resources discovered coal, iron ore, copper, natural gas, petroleum,
mercury, nickel, silver, corn, meat, cotton,
soybeans, tobacco,
Significance of North America The new land provided a lot of new resources and more trade/wealth Significance to Modern World The new world created new places to
live and also provided new places and
items to trade. The fur trade provided a new type of trade it also helped be providing clothing and new relationships between traders
