Transcript of David the Shepherd Boy

Before he was anointed king
Saul was the king and Davids father feared him. So he sent his youngest son David to play the harp for Saul whenever he was depressed. He visited King Saul daily to play the harp because he played it so beautifully.
David the Shepherd Boy
Samuel asked for him and David came. God suddenly spoke to Samuel telling him to anoint him. David was only about fifteen years old when he was anointed by Samuel. From the time the spirit of God came upon David and he began to show signs of becoming a great king.
David was a young shepherd boy
who was raised in Bethlehem, in the territory of the Tribe of Judah. He was raised by his father Jesse with seven older brothers and two sisters.
Nobody was pleased with King Saul. He broke a lot of rules and didn't do do anything the Lord said to do. God told Samuel, the one who anointed Saul as king, to go to Jesse's family to anoint the new king.
Jesse asked if it was his first son to be king because he had the looks to be one. Samuel said no because God doesn't judge by looks only by the heart of a man. He kept putting his sons forward but none of them were to be king.
While David was in the field caring for the sheep, Samuel was talking to his father and his brothers. Samuel asked if he had anymore sons. Jesse answered, " Yes but he's in the field caring for the sheep."
