The setting of this story is a house in England,in the early 1900s.
Segowlee Cantonment
The Segowlee cantonment was part of the setting of "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi".It was located in Segowlee (Sugauli),India.A cantonment is a military base that can be permanant.They are similar to barracks.The Segowlee cantonment was a British military base.
Present Day India
Some natural resources of India include coal,manganese,bauxite,therium,and other minerals. Two major languages spoken in India are Hindi and English. The capitol of India is New Delhi.

Comparison
The similarities between the two stories are,both are works of fiction and are set at a similar time. A difference is the characters in one story are human and in the other they are animals.
Major Events
The first British queen who held the title 'Empress of India' was Queen Victoria. She recieved her title in 1876. The Imperial era in India was the time when Britian controlled India. There was a lot of conflict during this time.
