Transcript of Qin Dynasty

221-206 B.C To start with this dynasty , the first emperor was Qin Shi Huang. Not like many other dynasties , the Qin Dynasty only lasted 15 years. It was established when the state of Qin conquered all other states. After Qin Shi Huang died the dynasty collapsed and after that it was all just chaos. The Zhou Dynasty was the dynasty before Qin dynasty, and the Han Dynasty was next. As the first emperor of this dynasty there were some cons during his ruling. He was a severe leader. Qin Shi Huang didnt tolerate any threats that kept him from ruling. He also burned all book that he considered were not useful . He would also bury scholars alive and let them die. As the first emperor, he did bad things but he also did good things. For Example, during the reign of the Qin Dynasty there was increasing of trade, improved agriculture, and a stronger military security. During his ruling he also did construction projects, such as the Great Wall of China. The Qin Dynasty also introduced several reforms: currency, weights and measures were standardized, and a better system of writing was established. During this period of time i found two significant cultural products. First, like mentioned before, he started The Great Wall of China. This was built and used for protection against any attacks. it was also built to fortify his northern border and protection against nomadic mongols The second biggest cultural product , were the TerraCotta Army Warriors. These included over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses. It was intended to protect the emperor after its death. These warriors were modeled after categories of soldiers. They reflect on the emperor's confidence on the military to create and maintain a unified China. In this period people had to obey different laws put by Qin, and alot of people had to repay taxes. Waterways such as canals and transportation were improved. Agricultue as well as trade increased alot. so you can say it was pretty good . Even though the Qin Dynasty is a part of history. We can compare and contrast it to modern countries. For Example , everyone knows the country of Mexico. They are the same because they both had a strong, stable central government. Increased tax revenues brought dramatic improvements in railways, mining, industry, foreign trade, and national finances. They both had emperors , Mexico's was Agustín I and the Qin Dynasty was Qin Shi Huangdi. Unlike the Qin Dynasty who conquered other states to unify or come together, Mexico came to be when they were conquered by the Spanish in the 16th century. The Qin Dynasty didnt last long but it did impact us now a days. For Example , they architecture and transportation we can say came from them . Something very useful was the standardized Writing which is what they use today. It was also because of the Qin Dynasty that we see important, famous artifacts such as The Great Wall of China and the TerraCotta Warriors. I would say this is an important Dynasty in the Chinese history. Qin Dynasty Qin Shi Huang
