Student Vs. Scholar What is a student? A student is someone who learns in order to gain an understanding for a subject. What is a scholar? A scholar is someone who chooses to learn, in order to gain a deeper understanding for a subject. What's the difference? A scholar chooses to learn a certain subject, where as a student may not choose to.
