VOCABULARY!!!!!!! potential energy is energy that is stored due to position. kinetic energy is the energy a moving object has because of its motion. elastic potential energy is energy that is stored by something that can stretch or compress. nuclear potential energy is the potential energy stored in the nuclei of atoms. chemical potential energy is energy that is stored in chemical bonds. gravitational potential energy is energy stored by objects due to their position above Earth's surface. electrical potential energy is the energy that is stored due to the position of an electric charge relative to other electric charges. calorie is a unit used by nutritionists to measure how much energy you get from various foods.
