My Social Injustice: By: Alex Magnowski Jobs at 14 or 15 years old. My social Injustice: A way I think that we could make it possible for children of 14 or 15 years of age is that communities and families could come together and start a petition and get enough signatures on it and show it to the person of power who is in charge of the legal age and show him/her that people of the community want it to be a lower age. This way the mayor knows he is doing his job and also the community gets just what they desire.
Who I think is behind this is the government because only they have the authority to decide if kids should be able to legally get a job at around 14 or 15 years of age or not. Who I believe can change it is again the government because again they decide if they should or not and also I believe that the community can change it as well because they can protest or make that petition. This is some research from: http://www.wisegeek.com/in-the-us-are-there-age-restrictions-for-getting-a-job.htm "The standard for most jobs, though this varies from state to state, is that you must be 16. Many states allow kids to work at 14, but it depends upon the industry. In some states, like Illinois, the minimum age restrictions for getting a job in agriculture is 12 years old during the school year and 10 during summer breaks. There are loopholes and exceptions to the minimum age restrictions for getting a job, and there are some fields of work or tasks not allowable for those under the age of 18, or in some cases 21. For example, in the entertainment industry, children of virtually any age can work, provided their parents permit it. There are laws governing how much work children of different ages can perform during a day, and these also mandate that a child must remain in school." The way I would make it possible for kids of around 14 or 15 years of age would be to make a huge petition and get lots and lots of signatures and make protests to make it publicly known to people that yes people want kids of around 14 or 15 years of age to legally have a job. Also by making it publicly known other people who maybe disagree will see that other people want this and maybe will change their minds and join the others to help make it possible for kids to get jobs at ages 14 or 15.
