Social Implications
Social Implications
Signs, Symbols & Metaphors
Main Message
In our society, anyone who tries to be original and do their own thing is put down. If you aren't society’s definition of “normal or average”, then you don’t fit in and get accepted. If you decide to associate with anyone or anything that's considered "different" or "weird", people decide you aren't good enough and can't fit in.
-Do what you love and be
proud of it. Follow your
heart and don’t let
anything stop you from
being who you want to be.

-Don’t just follow the
crowd. Be original
and don’t be afraid
to stand out.

-Many people are shallow and
they judge you solely on your
appearance, instead of what’s
on the inside. Don’t be like that, don’t judge someone who you don’t know and label them.

My Three Songs
Social Implications
“Yeah, so here's to you and here's to anyone who's ever felt invisible.”
Main Message
Everyone just wants to fit in. Don’t be the person who is too close-minded to accept new people. Just because someone acts "different" doesn't make them a bad person or someone not worthy of your time.

-Just because it hurts
now, doesn’t mean that
it will hurt forever. The
pain will go away and
you will be okay.

-People think if a persons confidence isn't a prominent
characteristic of their
personalities, it doesn't
exist and they feel
like they can push
them around.

-Don't let how other people act towards you make you a bad person. Don't fight what they say, or say mean things back because that makes you no better than them.

Signs, Symbols & Metaphors
Signs, Symbols & Metaphors
"Crowded hallways are the loneliest places
For outcasts and rebels
Or anyone who just dares to be different"

"And you've been trying for so long
To find out where your place is
But in their narrow minds
There's no room for anyone who dares to do something different"

Main Message
Sometimes words can hurt so much more than physical pain. Words can hurt enough that people would rather take physical blows 'Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.'
"Trust the one
Who's been where you are wishing all it was
Was sticks and stones"

Main Message
You’re never all alone. No matter what's happening in your life remember that there are people who love and care about you.

“Those words cut deep
but they don’t mean
you’re all alone.”

Main Message
"So your confidence is quiet
To them quiet looks like weakness"

Main Message
"Yeah, I promise you don't need to hide it anymore
Oh, and never be afraid of doing something different
Dare to be something more"

Main Message
“Trust the one who’s been where you are wishing all it was was sticks and stones.”
"Every heart has a rhythm
Let yours beat out so loudly
That everyone can hear it
Yeah, I promise you don't need to hide it anymore"

"These labels that they give you
just 'cause they don't understand"

Signs, Symbols & Metaphors
“If you look past this moment, you'll see you've got a friend waving a flag for who you are and all you're gonna do.”

People think that if you're not outgoing and don't act "cocky" and show your confidence all the time, then you're weak. Just because your confidence doesn't exude from you, doesn't mean it's not there.
Don't cover up who you are, just to fit in. Be who you want and do what you want, whatever will make you happy.
This references the saying, “Sticks and stone may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Basically he’s saying that the words and mental pain that he has to deal with is more painful than broken bones and any physical pain that he could endure.

"Invisible" by Hunter Hayes is a compelling song that highlights the importance of being who you want to be, and not letting anyone change that.
Don't forget that life goes on. The pain will end and someday, you'll realize that what you thought mattered so much, is in reality not that big of a deal.
"Hear me out,
There's so much more to life than what you're feeling now
And someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible"

Everyone's felt invisible one time or another in their lives...
Anyone can tell you that it's not fun to feel like no one cares about you. Some people live every day feeling like no one around them can see them and they feel like they don't matter.
Everyone’s heart
wants different things
and takes its own path,
or “rhythm”. Don’t be
afraid to “let yours
beat so loudly” and
do what you want.

People “label” you with
stereotypes before even knowing
you because they just assume
because you act/dress/look a certain
way that you will automatically fit
into that stereotype. People that
know nothing about you shouldn’t
stick labels on you, they don’t
know or understand you and
what’s going on inside your
If you can see beyond all the stereotypes and labels, you’ll find true friends and people that will support you, through thick and thin.
No matter what choices you make, they will be there to support you.
