Transcript of KEVIN DURANT

Kevin in action.
Kevin Durant is 26 and was born on September 29, 1988 in Suitland, Maryland just outside Washington D.C. Kevin Durant is a professional basketball player who plays for Oklahoma City Thunder.

When Kevin was 10 he decided that he wanted to be in the NBA when he grew up. He worked hard to get to where he is and succeeded in forfilling his dream. Kevin Durant won the NBA MVP of the year last year. He is a very successful basketball player and inspires me to decide what you want to do and how you want to do it at a young age.

He has only played college basketball for one season at the University of Texas, Austin. He was chosen second overall in the first round of the 2007 NBA by the Seattle SuperSonics. He has starred in the films ‘Thunderstruck’ and ‘Back To The Future’.

Kevin is not married and has no children. But was engaged to Monica Wright who is a WNBA star. (Women's National Basketball Association) But their engagement was broken due to Kevin's christian beliefs.

About Kevin
Excellence to me means always trying your best at everything that you do and honoring God for your success. If you try to complete the cross-country or you try your best in a maths test then you are showing excellence. But excellence can be found in anyone, it isn't just the smart, sporty people that show excellence everybody shows excellence in everyday things, if you make your bed when your Mum asks you to then you are showing excellence by obeying her. But there are two different types of excellence, the one that stands out and lots of people can see, and the type where nobody knows that excellence has been shown.
Young Kevin.
Kevin’s Mother and Father got divorced when Kevin was young and Kevin didn't see his Dad till he was 13. So, Kevin and his older brother Tony lived with their Mum Wanda Pratt and her mother Barbara Davis in Suitland just outside of Washington D.C.

Kevin is a giant standing at 2.06 meters. Kevin was always the tallest in his school classes and was quite self-conscious about his height.

Kevin's Religion
God's view of excellence.
What Has Kevin Studied?
Kevin Durant has been sharing his love for Jesus by speaking baptism at the Hillsong Life Church in New York. Although Kevin spends most of his time practicing and playing basketball he still has time to devote his life to God. He goes to the chapel before every game. He has religeous tattoos on his stomach, wrist, and back.
Kevin Durant has studied Law and received a masters degree. He has obviously also studied basketball.

Here's a video of Kevin.
Colossians 3:23
- And whatsoever you do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men,

Philippians 4:8 ESV / 138 -
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
God's view of excellence is
to not praise men for our success but to praise God for it.

As any child would, Kevin struggled when he did not have his Dad around.

Kevin also had several injuries playing basketball, he has injured his shoulder, he has had a right foot fracture, sprained right ankle, sprained left big toe, and a sore right toe. This has resulted in him not being able to play for his team.
Kevin's struggles in life.
