The Battle of King's Mountain Summary: Winner of the battle: Effects of the battle: The Battle of King's Mountain was a decisive battle between the Patriot and Loyalist militias in the Southern Campaign of the American Revolutionary War. The Patriots attacked and surrounded the Loyalists, inflicting heavy casualties. The Patriots two commanding generals: James Johnston, and William Campbell.The Loyalists had Patrick Ferguson and Lord Cornwallis. The American Revolutionaries. The Loyalist force
was annihilated. THE LOSING SIDE: Lord Cornwallis was forced to
abandon his plans to invade North Carolina and retreat
to South Carolina.

THE WINNING SIDE: The Patriots morale greatly increased after winning the battle. Also they had taken
