Pop Culture Event
During the 1970s pop culture has changed tremendously to more fun and expressed way. Like the music and how the way people dress. This also included the hippy age which made lots of conformation.
International Event
On September 7, 1977, President Jimmy Carter signed the Panama Canal Treaty and Neutrality Treaty promising to give control of the canal to the Panamanians by the year 1999.
National Person
Gerald Ford took office in 1974 as president, he also inherited all the political problems that was happening during that time.
International Person
The Nobel Peace Prize in 1978 was awarded to Mohamed Anwar al-Sadat and Menachem Begin.
He was the 38th President of the United States, serving from 1974 to 1977, and prior to this, was the 40th Vice President of the United States serving from 1973 to 1974.

National Event
The Watergate, in 1972 was a big event that involved many people including the president at the time Nixon.
This event led to the first president to ever resign.
They received the award for their efforts to end hostilities between their countries.
This allowed easy access for ships to transport items between the Atlantic and Pacific ocean.
