Orpheus and Eurydice
The Hunger Games
In the story, Orpheus is a very skilled Lyre player. So very skilled that when he played in a forest, a tree nymph appeared out of the tree and married Orpheus. The nymph's name was Eurydice. One day, Eurydice gets bitten by a viper and dies. Orpheus goes into the underworld and plays his Lyre to help convince Hades to give him his wife back. He agrees under one rule; he cant look back at her when going back to the over world. When Orpheus is going up the tunnel, he looks back at Eurydice, and she disappears.
In the story, Katness, a girl in the district 12, volunteers for her sister, Prim, when she gets chosen to be in the Hunger Games. A person named Haymitch helps Katness prepare for the Hunger Games. In the Hunger Games, Katness almost dies, but in the end, her partner from district 12, Peeta and her both survive and win the Hunger Games.
A hero can be many people. From a friend at school, or real hero's in general (like army personnel). In the story, Orpheus and Eurydice, Orpheus does a heroic act and goes to the underworld to save his wife. Also, In the Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers for her sister, Prim, for the Hunger Games. In Orpheus and Eurydice, the lesson learned there is to keep your promise, even though it might be tempting to break it. In the Hunger Games, Katniss learn that good can triumph over evil, if people can do the right thing. The synthesizing idea is that you must do what what is right, especially if you say your going to do it. In the real world, there will be many opportunities for you to act heroically, however large or small. It is best if you stay focused on what is right, regardless of the circumstances and you too, may be someone others consider a hero.
