By: Trenton Brannan
Facts
When the pilgrims arrived on the Mayflower, the Wampanoag Indians taught them how to cultivate the land. These Indians were invited to the first Thanksgiving in 1621. The first Thanksgiving in 1621 was celebrated for three days.
Traditions
Every year we have all of my family over at my house. We eat more food than you could think is possible, then later that day we have a backyard football game.
Background
Thanksgiving originated in 1621 by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World.Thanksgiving Day was meant to pay our homage to the Almighty for this bountiful harvest. The day of its celebration differs from country to country. In the United States, the holiday is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.

What I Like about Thanksgiving
