Take part in transformational learning Video games are self-directed In a video game, there are no external rewards, just the satisfaction of completing the game.
As soon as you level up or develop a new skill, you want to apply it right away (immediate application of knowledge).
You play because you want to win the game, you do not stop if it gets hard but try to overcome the obstacle. You are self-driven to advance through the different levels to enhance the skills you chose for your character.
You also can start new skills as you level up. •When actively participating in a video game, we are engaged in achieving a certain goal
•Video games can help us recognize our strengths and weaknesses which allows us to reflect on how to improve in the game.
•Prior experience playing video games can be beneficial in that it motivates learners to play a new game outside of their comfort zone.
•When we lose in a video game, a positive attitude will makes us feel challenged rather than defeated to reach the next level of the game. Past experiences shape how we perceive and respond to video game play when we are playing new games and our previous understandings and perceptions will change as we continue to play

New games force us to think outside of our normal realm or thought or beyond our default perceptions.
