Growing in the
Daily Christian Life

Three important principles:

1. Our Prayer must be Faithful

Decide on the practical details – When? Where? How long?
Mt 6:6
-But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

2. Our Prayer must be led by the Holy Spirit
True prayer is prayer in the Spirit; that is, the prayer the Spirit inspires and directs.

1. Our Prayer must be Faithful
3. Our Prayer must must be centered on a relationship with Jesus
Our goal is not “to pray” or to “pray well”, but to grow in our relationship with the Lord.
Prayer is a matter of loving God and being loved by Him.
Concentrate not on the prayer but on the Lord.

3 Ways we can learn more about God:

We need to take on the heart of a servant.
Mt 20: 26-28

Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Ways we can Serve:
We serve God by the way we live.
We serve God by performing the basic responsibilities God has given us in our daily lives.
Spiritual Readings
Teachings and Preachings
We serve our fellowmen by recognizing the many built-in opportunities for service in day-to-day life.
We give witness to our faith in Jesus by the way we live our lives
Make ourselves and our resources available for God’s work
James 2: 14-17
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
