Where is the robot used? What is its work envelope?
recent AGV applications include use in the military, health care, and transportation logistics markets.. Its envelope works becuase of its flexible arm that makes moving objects easier.
what are some advantages & disadvantages of using the robot to perform this task?
lower life time time cost of non value added transportation to materials.
Reduces variances found in human delivery operations.
offers a dynamic design solution.
modular system elements
safe and predictible technology
increased accuracy and productivity
put hard working people out of work.
cots lots of money just to buy one machine.
what task does the robot perform?
AGVs are used to consistently and predictably transport loads of material to places that might otherwise be service by fork lift trucks, conveyors or manual cart transport.
what human task does this robot stimulate
AGVs are flexible and inexpensive. they can be used for material transportation and assembly line tasks.
describe the impact that this robot has or had or coulda have on its intended audience.
AGV has influenced manufactuaring by having the ability to offer material tracking and inventory support assembly, and intergrate with other robots. it also allows unmanned manufacturing to become a reality.
how is the robot taught to perform its task?
The AGV is taught its task by a pre-programmed that can be inserted into it. the chips can hold more than one task.
they have ground sensors to follow the line and it also has sensors around it to lift or carry objects to its location. They work because there is usually a button on the robot that puts them on a automatic course through the facility.
what sensors does the robot have and how does the robot use these sensors?
Is the robotic end multi-functional?
Yes, the AGV can grab and lift objects it can also tow heavy objects. it cannot do more than more one function at a time.
Predict & explain how thus robot may be alterted to perform more than one task?
if you can find a way to give the AGV to think on its own you could put it in the labs and make it create dangerous chemicals and see what they can make..
what type of jobs/careers can this robot provide for people?
the types of AGV's can create is more of their chips. in the end Agv's will be doing most human jobs.
