THE ENGINEER
ETHICAL EXCELLENCE
HOW DO ENGINEERS SOLVE PROBLEMS?
The engineer solves problems. These problems are characterized by their open structure (that is, they have many "right" solutions).
The engineer is in all cases, a builder, a manufacturer, a maker of devices, structures and processes. Designing, constructing or manufacturing, and operating and maintaining things, the engineer satisfies the material needs
Of every human being, of society and humanity. Every engineer should have an interest in turning theoretical into practical.
1. identification of the problem
2. collection of necessary information
3. search for creative solutions
4. move from the main idea to the preliminary design
5. evaluation and selection of the solution
6. preparation of reports, plans and specifications
7. Design implementation.
In his professional practice, each engineer must overcome his specific ethics: he must be above the law, he must aspire to excellence
