Write a response to the message board on page 48. State your opinion about what to do with bullying and give reasons to support your opinion. Add a conclusion and include examples of past and present unreal conditionals.

What would you have done if you were in the situations featured in the reading?
What other things can people do to stop or prevent bullying?
There’s only one answer to bullying: expel the bullies from school.
Astrid Haugen – Oslo, Norway:
Kids need to learn that this behavior is unacceptable. If even minor acts of bullying had serious consequences, parents would keep a closer eye on their children’s behavior. Furthermore, kids would be more likely to tell someone that they were being bullied if they knew that there would be a quick solution to their problem.
Many bullies grow up to become violent adults. This kind of behavior must be stopped as soon as it starts.
