1. The city of Pompeii was recovering from an earthquake in 62 AD when it got destroyed by the volcano.
2. A two-week long eruption from this volcano started on March 18, 1944
3.It is classed as a complex stratovolcano
1. There were mud slides that burried the city
2.Lava bombs blew up the city
3. Lava burned buildings
Cause of the eruption
The magma inside the volcano built up
The only active volcano on the mainland of Europe.
Steps to defend it
They could of built a wall to stop the mud slides.
