Answering ads in appropriate professional/ trade publications: 7% success rate

Answering ads in local vacancy sources e.g., newspapers, job centre: 5-24%

Registering with a recruitment agency: 5-28% success

Do you agree?
Generally speaking, employers and job-hunters search for each other in entirely different ways.

Job-hunters tend to hunt in the same way regardless of times being good or bad, but employers don’t.

Employers change their behaviour dramatically when times are tough.

Employers are not all the same.

Your likelihood of success in getting a job will be much reduced if you only rely on one method of job-hunting.
