/bigten/davin During the Renaissance, many new ideas flourished and areas such as the fine arts, sciences, and philosophy. This time period produced many new inventions and innovations. Da Vinci sketched a design of an early submarine. An early version of a grand piano.
In 1411 the piano was invented.The first
model was called the Spinet. However, historians
regard the actual identity of the inventor
as controversial. The first design for the parachute was drawn by Leonardo da Vinci in 1483. The first mechanical clock was invented in the early 1300's.Galileo's invention of the pendulum allowed for this. The printing press was invented by a german named Johannes Gutenberg in 1436. Although he would not live to see it made, Leonardo developed the first under water warship but did not share his work to avoid ridicule. In 1608, Hans Lippershey
invented the telescope which
was improved in 1668 by Galileo. Matches first appeared in Europe around 1530.
However, Historians are not sure by whom
they were invented. The first useful microscope
was invented between 1590
and 1608.Has Lippershey

The invention of the printing press ended the tedious tradition of hand copying all books and manuscripts, replacing it with a much more practical process. SO WHAT? What does this mean? The invention of the pocket watch allowed people to tell time more easily and accurately. The use of gunpowder in warfare was not around until 1346. Wallpaper was first used in 1496. The use of parachutes has saved countless lives. The early designs of airplanes have impacted society in obvious ways. The use of submarines has helped in many wars. The piano is now a common household item and instrument. The use of gunpowder has enhanced warfare.
