Transcript of Whooping Cough

Whooping Cough This disease is associated with all ages, races, and both genders.
It's more common in children under 5 years old in the United States, though. The Whooping Cough is spread when respitory droplets produced by an infected person from coughing or sneezing comes into contact with a non-infected person through the mouth, nose, or eyes.
runny nose
mild cough
low-grade fever Symptoms:
Coughing spells that last longer than one minute
While coughing child might turn red or purple
Have a "whooping" sound while breathing in after coughing
Child might vomit in between cough spells Pertussis vaccine, which is part of DTaP
is given to a child before their 6th birthday
to prevent this disease. Bordetella pertussis, is the bacteria
name for the Whooping Cough.
