The Life of Cliff Burton Birth/Death Born - 9:38pm, February 10th, 1962, Castro Valley, California
Died- about 3am, September 27th, 1986, age 24, between Stockholm and Copenhagen "To this day, I think about him every day."
- Kirk Hammett Clifford Lee Burton died when a tour bus fell on him.

Black ice was blamed, but James Hetfield denies this. Death Bassist for Metallica, 1982-death

Also played for his own band EZ Street before signing with Metallica

Recorded all bass for Kill ‘Em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets

Considered by many to be the best bassist of all time Burton revolutionized the role of the electric bass.

Dubbing his style ‘lead bass’ before his death, he has influenced countless bassists, including Chris Kael of FFDP.
