Genus
To 2017, the number of job openings for Surgeons is expected to be below average (between 5,001 and 10,000). Job openings can arise from employment growth and people leaving the occupation.
Employment for Surgeons to November 2017 is expected to grow slightly. Employment in this small occupation (8000 in November 2012) rose very strongly in the past five years and in the long-term (ten years), although with small occupations employment estimates can fluctuate.
Surgeons have an above average proportion of full-time jobs (84.2 per cent). For Surgeons working full-time, average weekly hours are 52.7 (compared to 41.3 for all occupations) and earnings are high - in the tenth decile. Unemployment for Surgeons is below average.

What Role Does Your Species Have In Maintaing Biodiversity?
As predators, green tree pythons help reduce populations of several prey species of
Rodents
birds
and lizards

They also serve as food for other animals like Rufous owls.
What are the implications of this species becoming endangered or extinct?
Currently, the green tree python is not endangered as it is not listed on the IUCN Red list or CITIES.
Morelia viridis
has been assessed as
not

endangered
due to its large distribution. Although localized
threats exist
due to high harvesting levels for the pet trade.
The
largest
threat to the species is habitat destruction due to logging of forests.
Negative
deforestation
hunting them as a food source
popular trade animal - also being smuggled in unhealthy and unsafe conditions
Positive
The green tree pythons in zoos are safer than they were in the wild.
The zoo keeps them well-nourished gives them medication for illnesses, which were not accessible in the wilderness.
