failure or refusal to conform to a prevailing rule or practice.
For the style of Music, We went with Rock mostly focusing on Punk, but a few classics as well. The artist themselves go against society and are the epitome of Transcendental Thought. So sit back, relax, and press play.
We started off with a classic. Twisted Sister's
We're Not Gonna Take It.
The song speaks for it's self with non conformity. It explains the importance of individualism. The meaning matches the society portrayal in the quote.
depending only on skills obtained only though our own abilities
Self Reliance in context
"Trust thyself; every heart
vibrates to that iron string."
-Self-Reliance pg 369
This definition says there is more done and a better reward in the excitement of our own works. We decide to change our life, that is a huge power. This quote connects to Sing by My Chemical Romance song.
The opening verse, "Sing it out
Boy, you've got to see what tomorrow brings
Sing it out
Girl, you've got to be what tomorrow needs
For every time that they want to count you out
Use your voice every single time you open up your mouth"
Non-Conformity In context
"Society is a joint-stock company in which the members agree for the better securing of his bread to each shareholder, to surrender the libery and culture of the eater."
-Self-Reliance pg 369

Importance of Nature in Context
The lyrics from Twisted Sister's song We're not gonna take it,
"We've got the right to choose and
There ain't no way we'll lose it
This is our life, this is our song
We'll fight the powers that be just
Don't pick our destiny 'cause
You don't know us, you don't belong" This takes initiative saying we should not go with the crowd, we deserve to be different.
I have these thoughts
So often I ought
To replace that slot
With what I once bought
'Cause somebody stole
My car radio
And now I just sit in silence
the idea that a persons viewpoint should be formed by logic and reason rather than preconceived notions provided by authority or other traditions
I can move mountains
I can work a miracle, work a miracle
Oh, oh, keep you like an oath
May nothing but death do us part
I know where you stand
Silent in the trees
And that's where I am
Silent in the trees.
Why won't you speak
Where I happen to be?
Silent in the trees
Connecting to nature and the wonders that it holds. Transcendentalist's thought that nature is a living force that can offer lasting lessons about what it means to be human.
feeling certain about the truth of something.
"Yet it is certain that the power to produce this delight does not reside in Nature, but in man, or in a harmony of both" Nature Pg. 368
"And we are now men, and must accept in the highest mind the same transcendent destiny; and not minors and invalids in a protected corner but guides, redeemers and benefactors" Self Reliance Pg. 369
" I become a transparent eyeball; I am thing; I see all; the currents of the Universal Being circulate through me; I am part or Parcel of God." Nature Pg. 367
Free thought relates to the quote and
the song because both are joined by expressing an emotion without influence of anything else. Letting, the mind soar without
clipping its wings. Developing a personal opinion is important, it is what makes us different, especially when we are alone.
Confidence is key to any stellar achievements in life. When the lyrics tie to the quote we realize there is two different types of confidence. Confidence in who you are, and confidence in what you do. Confidence sets the tone for your life, and is positivity aimed high to what you want to be.
The song written by Twenty One Pilots
compares a human as nature. As if we are trees,
watching, alone, and wanting to be noticed. Natural and hidden, as a coward, just as nature appears to be. The similarity in humans and nature is undeniable, the power of humans and their interaction with the world.
