Spent around 6 years writing and reserching this novel (Harper Lee also came to aid him in his research) He interviewed the towns people, law, and the killers (he even became close with Perry Smith) A non-fiction/true crime novel A true story of a real murder Killed Nov. 14th 1959 Holcomb, Kansas Ex Con's, with serious issues
and little motive to commit
the crimes they did The classic american family destroyed Herb-
well known and liked by everyone,
one of the most popular men in town Nancy-
most popular girl
in town,also well loved
one of 3 daughters Bonnie-
wife and mother
(some mental illness) Kenyon-
smart, hardworking
and fun only son Plot centers around....

and more.... Theme..
because its a true story the theme is not basic
But some of the themes one could find are
The destruction of the american dream
Crime and punishment
Loss of innocence
and others.. I think is a really well written
interesting novel and I recommend it end.
